Three Elements
Funded by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities in partnership with CityInterests LLC, this striking sculpture is prominently displayed at Parkside Community Park in Washington, DC. Situated near the Minnesota Ave Metro Station, the park features environmentally sustainable elements like rain gardens and permeable pavers to protect the nearby Anacostia River.
Titled to symbolize both the transformative power of community and a nod to the city’s football team, the artwork consists of three metallic forms with textured surfaces that capture and reflect light, enhancing the park’s aesthetic while inviting viewers to engage with its dynamic, ever-changing perspectives. These towering elements interact fluidly, positioned to form a central focal point that integrates seamlessly with the urban landscape, symbolizing the unity and revitalization of the neighborhood. This sculpture stands as a testament to the synergy between art, environmental sustainability, and urban community development.
