Four Elements
Screen is a limited edition artwork, prominently installed at Brookside Gardens in Wheaton, Maryland, and Baldomero Lopez State Veterans’ Home in Land O’Lakes, Florida, which was chosen through a national competition. Additionally, it is installed in two private residences: one in Coral Gables, Florida and the other in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The sculpture consists of columns with a gentle twist, mirrored inversely by the gaps between them, creating an effect reminiscent of falling sheets of rain.
This design not only enhances the visual rhythm of the piece but also symbolically explores the connection between earth and sky. The geometric interleaving of the columns and intervening spaces emphasizes a dynamic interplay of elements, suggesting a symbiotic relationship within the natural world.
Screen is thoughtfully integrated into its environments, complementing the tranquility of its settings while inviting reflection on the interconnected forces of nature. Its presence enhances the landscape, providing a focal point that bridges art and the natural world, and offering viewers an opportunity to contemplate the delicate balance and harmony that characterize our environment.
